About
Built by calibration people, for calibration people
Every calibration technician has a folder of half-trusted spreadsheets and a few bookmarked vendor calculators. Metrology Bench is one free, vendor-neutral place for the math you reach for at the bench, where every equation, constant and source is shown and every calculator is tested against published reference values.
Independence
Metrology Bench is built and maintained by Kevin Mastriano at Custom Calibration, North Haven, CT, an accredited calibration laboratory. The tools are free and vendor-neutral. Nothing here is part of any laboratory’s accredited scope, and nothing here is a certified result.
How we keep it right
- Equations and constants come from NIST, BIPM and the published standards, and every tool names its source.
- Each calculator is tested against reference values on every change; the test vectors are public.
- Outside an equation’s valid range we refuse rather than extrapolate.
- Every tool carries a version number, and every change is in the changelog.
Sponsorship policy
If we ever accept sponsors, they will be labeled clearly, and they will never touch the math, the test vectors or what we write.
