Weight tolerance check

Check a weight’s measured conventional mass against the maximum permissible error for its class and nominal value. You enter the MPE from the edition of ASTM E617, OIML R 111 or other standard you work to; no tolerance table is built in. The decision names its rule (simple acceptance, w = r × U, or a target risk) and gives the specific risk for the reading.

Wording for the certificate

Weight of nominal value 100000 mg: error E = m_c − m₀ = 0.12 mg against MPE ± 0.5 mg. Conforms to the specification (−0.5 to 0.5 mg) per decision rule: guarded acceptance, w = 1 × U; guard band w = 0.16 mg, acceptance limits −0.34 to 0.34 mg. Measured value 0.12 mg, expanded uncertainty U = 0.16 mg (k = 2). Specific probability of false accept: 0.00010 % (probability for this measured value, normal distribution, JCGM 106:2012).

E = m_c − m₀ · tolerance ± MPE · AL = −MPE + w, AU = MPE − w, w = r·U · no class table is built in
